Climate Data Sources
Several places maintain better lists of atmospheric and oceanographic data than I do.
Just in case they missed anything, here is our own list.
-
Data Catalog a catalog of climate datasets, with an interface that allows
you to make plots, tables, and data files from any dataset and its subsets.
- TOPEX Data Archive
Provides access to the gridded TOPEX sea surface height (SSH) anomaly
fields produced at NASA/GSFC.
- PMEL:
Live access to climate data
- JISAO datasets.
- NOAA's Data Centers
- EPA Data server
for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Global Change Research Program.
- Consortium for International
Earth Science Information Network
- Climate Analysis
Center (requires a paid account).
- NASA's Data Centers
- Environment
Canada National Climate Products and Services.
- UOTC Upper Ocean Thermal Center
- NEMO Data Server of Scripps Institution of Oceanography
- UKMO United Kingdom Met Office Data sets
-
The European Space Agency - ESA/ESRIN, Frascati, Italy, announces the
"Global Land 1km AVHRR Data Set Browser" WWW server.
This experimental server allows retrieval of quick-looks of satellite
images archived by ESA/ESRIN since April 1, 1992.
-
The Center for Earth and Planetary Studies and its Regional Planetary Image
Facility (RPIF) located at the
National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution are pleased to announce the availability of its WWW server.
The purpose of this NASA supported RPIF is to act as a reference library providing planetary science researchers with access to the extensive collection of image data from planetary missions.
Currently we are in the process of placing some of the 300,000 photographs and images of the planets and their satellites in our collection online.
- Hydrographic Atlas of the Southern
Ocean.
