Click icon to download Adobe Reader 3.0 or 4.0 if you don't already have it.
Configure Navigator 3.x to use Adobe Acrobat as a helper application
- If the PDFViewer plug-in is installed, quit Navigator and remove the PDFViewer plug-in from the Netscape
Navigator:Plug-ins or Netscape Communicator:Plug-ins folder.
- Start Navigator.
- Choose Options > General Preferences
- In the Preferences dialog box, click the Helpers tab.
- Do either of the following:
- If "Portable Document Format" is listed in the Description section, select
it, click Edit.
- If "Portable Document Format" is not listed, click New. Type "Portable Document Format" in the
Description text box. Type "application/pdf" in the MIME Type text box. Type "pdf" in the Suffixes text
box.
- Select Application in the Handled By section.
- Click Browse.
- Choose PDF from the File Type pop-up menu, then click OK.
- Restart Navigator.
Configure Navigator 4.x to use Adobe Acrobat as a helper application
- If the PDFViewer plug-in is installed, quit Navigator and remove the PDFViewer plug-in from the Netscape
Navigator:Plug-ins or Netscape Communicator:Plug-ins folder.
- Start Navigator.
- Choose Edit > Preferences
- In the left pane, select Navigator, then select Applications.
- Select "Portable Document Format" in the Applications list, then click
Edit.
- Select the Application radio button, then click Choose.
- Locate your Acrobat viewer's application file on your hard drive, then
click Open.
- Choose PDF from the File Type pop-up menu.
- Click OK to close the Edit Type dialog box.
- Restart Navigator.
