Sir, I am very interested in looking at the mean cloudiness data located at your web site.

I have been looing at the following URL:

Is there any way to look at the monthly cloudiness for specific years. I have spent some time looking around, and have not been able to find cloudiness for any year execpt the one shown in the above URL (and that one I cannot figure out which year is displayed?)

In the URL that you sent us, you were looking at ISCCP mean cloudcover, which is an average year. The graphics that I displayed are from ISCCP monthly cloudcover, a slightly different database which shows each month. Use the provided timeline to toggle to different months.

Alternate approach:

The following database is from a computer model, whereas the ISCCP is of actual data. Some advantages of using the NOAA NCEP-NCAR CDAS is that it supplies current data. This model is catagorized into three areas: high clouds, middle clouds, and low clouds.

In terms of cloud cover, clicking on the following graphic will allow you to scroll through a timeline displaying the percentage of cloudiness over the US. The following graphic is of January 1974. By clicking on it, it is possible to view the percent cloudiness for any month. of any year

The percentage of cloudiness only pertains to high clouds...below are links allowing you to view Low Clouds, and Mid level clouds. By viewing these links, it is possible to graphically find the average cloudcover for any location in the United States. Changing the lattitude and longitude settings allow you to view areas other than the US.
