DINOSAURS AND THE HISTORY OF LIFE

Acknowledgments

This course was initially inspired by my friend and colleague Kevin Padian of The University of California, Berkeley who began teaching a course for undergraduates several years before I. He shared his considerable slide collection with me and notes and saved me months of preparation. I will always be in his debt.

Naturally, this course has benefited from the many TAs that have participated in it over the last nine years. Many have contributed improvements and substance to the course. In addition, the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences has been instrumental in supporting this course both in spirit and financially, for which I am grateful.

Finally, the hundreds of undergraduates who have take the course have been a pleasure an privilege to teach. Their enthusiasm has made the course a joy. In addition, they have offered many suggestions that I have followed over the years.
